Celebrate the Harvest Season at the Blue Mountain Village
When autumn rolls in and the escarpment glows in shades of gold and red, we know it can only mean one thing…it’s harvest season. And around here, that means apples.
Every Thanksgiving weekend, the region celebrates the Apple Harvest Weekend, bringing together local flavour, fall colour, and community spirit. It’s one of our favourite weekends of the year, when live music fills the Village, guests can taste test local ciders, and the joy of the harvest is shared with visitors from near and far.
What Is Harvest Season and Why Do We Celebrate It?
Harvest is the time when all the hard work of the growing season comes to fruition. It’s when local farmers pick their apples, gather their crops, and share the bounty with the community. In many ways, harvest marks both an ending and a beginning, the close of summer’s growth and the start of fall’s cozy celebrations.
In Canada, Thanksgiving naturally falls right in the middle of harvest season, a time to reflect on abundance, connection, and gratitude. Whether it’s sharing a homemade pie, raising a glass of local cider, or taking a long scenic drive through the orchards, harvest is a reminder to slow down and savour the sweetness of the season.
