Adventure with an Appetite!

Up, down, around the Niagara Escarpment six adventures are waiting for you this spring, summer and fall. Hike, bike, paddle, or just sit back and tour local cideries, vineyards and waterfalls. Be sure to come back in the winter to snowshoe & cross country, perfect when paired with local wines by the fireplace. The Apple Pie Trail™ Adventures are hosted by locals who know apple country best including Free Spirit Tours, Georgian Hills Vineyard, Collingwood Cooking Academy, Scandinave Spa and Summerbound Tours.

Trained in European cuisine, local Chef Philip Tarlo invites your group to the Collingwood Cooking Academy* to learn the tricks of pastry and how to make the perfect Apple Pie. Afterwards drive 10 minutes to the award-winning Scandinave Spa Blue Mountain. Guests can spend several hours soaking in the Scandinavian Baths while enjoying the serenity of the surrounding natural environment.

Duration: 4-6 hours
Dates: Year round available on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday. Class starts at 11am, spa is open until 9pm. Guests must be 19yrs+ for access to the Spa. 2015 spring

Please note the cooking school will be closed from September 23rd to October 13th while Chef Philip returns to his roots with a visit to England.

Price: $125.00pp+tax.
Includes: Three hour cooking class (you’ll take home an apron, 3 mini apple pies, apple streudel, apple crepes & apple bread) plus access to Spa baths, open daily until 9pm.
*24 hour booking notice preferred.

canoe smEnjoy a leisurely paddle down the Beaver River, followed by a visit to nearby Georgian Hills Vineyards for a glass of welcome bubbly and three local wines paired with cheese.

3. pedal & paddle the blue mountains, AN ONTARIO TOURISM SIGNATURE EXPERIENCE


Load your bike on the Blue Mountain Gondola and cycle 40 km’s through the scenic Beaver Valley orchards, trails and country roads. Stop for lunch at Blackbird Pie Co., just steps away from your launching point for the gentle 1 hour paddle down the Beaver River. Return to the Village via the Georgian Trail along the shoreline of Georgian Bay. 

Duration: 4-7 hours
Dates: May 15th–October during Gondola operating hours.

PintGrowler 1

Visit Collingwood’s three new micro-breweries. First stop is SideLaunch Brewery, then off to Collingwood Brewery and finally Northwinds Brewhouse. At each stop you will learn about the art of making beer and enjoy samples at each location.

Duration: 3 hours

Huronic Blue Final
Enjoy local wines with food pairings while cruising on the beautiful Georgian Bay.

Duration: 1.5 hours 
Dates: Wednesdays at 5:30pm, June to October
